Raidco Marine and STX Lorient inaugurate the OPV 70 of Royal navy of Morocco

This is at the new quays of Rohu in Lanester, near the STX Lorient shipyard, that Raidco Marine delivered Thursday, June 23 the offshore patrol vessel Bir Anzarane to the Royal Navy of Morocco represented by the Admiral Mohamed Laghmari.

This is the largest patrol vessel of their fleet the Royal Navy of Morocco ordered to Raidco Marine in June 2008 and which was built at STX shipyard in Lanester.
Built under civil standards, the Bir Anzarane is an ocean patrol vessel 70 meters long and 800 tons weight that can reach speeds of 22 knots. This ship mainly dedicated to the missions of state action at sea, such as survey or enforcement services, is nonetheless equipped with a comprehensive weapon system: a 76 mm gun forward, an another 40 mm at the rear, two 14.5 mm machine gun and two 12.7 mm. It will house a crew of 64 sailors and will also take six passengers on board. The ship will join its home port in Casablanca in the summer.
The 70 OPV is the flagship of the range proposed by Raidco Marine (OPV 45, 54 and 70) and ensures all the missions of maintaining national sovereignty in the territorial waters.

The OPV 70 is also available equipped with a helicopter or drone platform.
